Missing that old energy
Right Back Where They Started From?
By Rick Horowitz
California,
lights are out,
What the heck is this about?
We moved here,
We grooved here,
Life would be grand,
Instead we,
With dread, we
Flip a switch and moan and bitch.
A no-volt jolt
right to the heart,
Sure upsets the apple cart,
I just want my Cuisinart!
California, lights are out.
California, things
are grim,
Every time those lights go dim,
We glower,
As power
Flickers and dies,
It's awful,
A crawful,
No more buzz the way it was.
A pitch-black
lack is now our fate,
All across the Golden State,
Which fool said, "Deregulate"?
California, things are grim.
California, here
I go,
Moving back to Kokomo,
It's tragic,
The magic
Fading away,
It's galling,
Appalling,
Rates'll double, we're in trouble.
One last blast
of pricey gas,
Head out on the overpass,
They can kiss my biomass,
California, here I go!
